Mutt Motorcycles Hilts 250cc
Inspired by the enduring images of Steve McQueen jumping barbed wire fences over the Swiss border; we wanted a bike with a classic look which was fun to ride but capable for simple off-road.
We’re proud to be the first, and only, motorcycle tour operator running Mutt Motorcycles 250cc bikes. Especially as they’ve now gone bust 🙄. These lightweight, refreshingly minimal machines are incredibly agile and, after a couple of tweaks from our in-house mechanics, they’re more than capable of lapping up the rugged mountain terrain, whilst still offering a great ride on the tarmac.
The 250cc engine gives plenty of power for the steep mountain roads whilst not being cumbersome when conditions become technical.
We’ve ridden thousands of kilometers in all sorts conditions across the Picos, so far these bikes have yet to skip a beat.
Rieju Aventura Rally 307R
For our off-road tours at Mountain Dog Motorcycles, we’ve chosen the Rieju Aventura 307R because it perfectly balances capability, control, and character. The 307R is light, agile, and confidence-inspiring — exactly what you want when guiding riders along the varied gravel tracks, mountain passes, and hidden trails of the Picos de Europa. Its manageable power delivery and responsive handling make it fun without being intimidating, allowing experienced riders to push on confidently while still welcoming those newer to off-road riding.

Yamaha Tenere 700
For our longer on-road tours and premium rentals, we’ve chosen the Yamaha Ténéré 700 because it delivers the perfect blend of real-world performance, long-distance comfort, and legendary reliability. Its torquey CP2 engine provides smooth, usable power that feels effortless on sweeping mountain roads and confident when overtaking on open stretches. At the same time, the upright riding position, balanced chassis, and excellent wind protection make it a bike you can happily spend full days in the saddle — ideal for exploring the dramatic passes and valleys around Potes and beyond.
Just as importantly for Mountain Dog Motorcycles, the Ténéré 700 represents dependable adventure without unnecessary complexity. It’s robust, proven, and built to handle everything from perfectly surfaced tarmac to the occasional gravel detour.
